Donna is one of our newest hires in the tasting room. She relocated to Idaho in 2014 from Los Angeles, having most recently worked in the film business in international marketing and creative advertising. But wine is her real passion, and she set her sights on joining what she considers to be the very best winery and sales team in Idaho. She couldn’t be happier about making the switch. In her words, “Hollywood is over-rated. Wouldn’t you much rather drink great wine and talk to nice people all day?”
What do you do at Cinder?
Sell wine, drink wine, talk about wine… But mostly sell wine! Fortunately for us at Cinder, our wines are so good, they almost sell themselves! I also help out with marketing stuff.
What is your favorite part of working in the Idaho Wine industry?
I love watching it grow. To be part of a business of good, hard-working people who have a vision, and are seeing that vision come to fruition. Honestly, the “potato-wine” jokes are getting a little old… we make award-winning wines here!!
What wine would you bring with you to a desert island?
Any red blend… I’m addicted to them at the moment.
If you had a different profession, what would it be?
I’m doing it.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I’d love to turn back the hands of time.
What is your theme song?
I hail from New Jersey originally, so I’ve got to pay homage Ol’ Blue Eyes himself … “My Way.”
What is the one thing you love most about Boise?
Only one? Wow. I love the people. I love the view of the foothills from my living room. I love the food & wine scene. I love immediate access to hiking and skiing. I love having no traffic. I love that I pass a llama on my drive into town — I never did THAT in Los Angeles!
